In order to evaluate our performance and find out how our residents feel about their local area, Wealden District Council have commissioned a market research company, Opinion Research Services Ltd (ORS), to carry out telephone interviews with Wealden residents (aged 18+).

Key findings and changes made:

A total of 1001 Wealden residents were interviewed about their perceptions of the Council and the area in which they live. The sample of residents was statistically selected to be representative of the Wealden population and the survey was designed to enable benchmarking with Local Government Association (LGA) data. Overall, the results were positive and compare favourably with those achieved nationally and by other local authorities. The Council performed better than the national results on all five LGA benchmarking questions. Wealden also achieved the highest results of all comparator authorities in satisfaction with the local area as a place to live (95%) and the proportion who agree that the Council provides value for money (67%). Satisfaction with the way the Council runs things was also high at 75%.
