Wealden Residents Survey 2021

Status: Closed

In order to evaluate our performance and find out how our residents feel about their local area, Wealden District Council have commissioned a market research company,  Lake Market Research to carry out telephone interviews with Wealden residents (aged 18+).

If you live in the Wealden District, you may receive a call on our behalf from Lake Market Research between 27 September and 31 October 2021.

No personal information, contact details or databases have been shared by the Council with Lake Market Research at any time. All survey results are anonymous and contact details are never released to any other parties.

The telephone numbers used in this survey are selected at random using Random Digit Dialling (RDD), whereby random digits are chosen within desired area codes, and calls made for the purpose of research are exempt from TPS.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact the Policy and Communications Team at Wealden District Council on 01323 443322 or by email at PR@wealden.gov.uk

Key findings and changes made:

Wealden District Council’s satisfaction levels for 2021 are much higher than
national levels which is noted as a significant achievement for staff and members
alike. When compared to previous results within Wealden, the satisfaction levels
are broadly similar to the results of the 2019 survey.

The results indicate that Wealden residents have a high level of satisfaction with
the area they live in, 90% are satisfied with their local area as a place to live,
which is 12% higher than the national figure. A higher proportion of residents
aged 18-34 are satisfied, satisfaction is lowest amongst residents living in the
South East (Hailsham and surrounding areas) and residents aged 65 and over.

Almost three quarters (73%) of residents are satisfied with the way Wealden
District Council runs things which is 17% higher than the national figure.
Satisfaction has increased from the 2019 survey amongst Wealden residents by
5% to 73%. A higher proportion of female residents are satisfied with the way the
Council runs things (77%) compared to male residents (69%).

Over half (53%) of residents agree that Wealden District Council provides value
for money which is an increase of 4% from the 2019 survey and 10% higher than
the national average. When informed of the amount of Council Tax that Wealden
keeps and asked this question again 64% agree that the Council provides value
