Dead Animals

Our responsibilities

We are responsible for collecting dead animal carcasses from highways, lay-byes, bus shelters, subways, council car & coach parks and recycling bring sites.

Areas we do not cover

We are not responsible for removing dead animals from motorways, trunk roads or private land (this is the land owner’s responsibility).

Reporting a problem

If you see a  dead animal, please report it to us here.

What happens next?

For dead animals on public land, we will usually attend within 2 days. If the animal is a domestic animal, it will be scanned for the presence of a microchip and the registered owner informed. Any animals not micro chipped will be stored for a short period of time.
