Housing Options, Homelessness, Advice

The Housing Options team provides housing advice and assistance to all of our residents, and works to prevent homelessness in the District. The team also maintains the housing register and manages Homemove, the choice based lettings scheme , on behalf of the Council.

This explains who can apply for and the process for getting social housing, for both new tenants and existing tenants who need to transfer home.

Homelessness

If you are homeless, or think that you may be threatened with homelessness please complete our Homelessness application (external website), to access help and advice from the Housing Options team.

If you are concerned about someone over the age of 18 that you have seen sleeping rough in Wealden or elsewhere in England or Wales, please report it to StreetLink here.

Housing Options Advice and Assistance

We can provide advice on a range housing options depending on your needs.
The Housing Options Team is  also able to provide advice and assistance to all our residents who require help in accessing suitable accommodation. This includes advice for rough sleepers, gypsies and travellers and those leaving care, prisons, youth detention or hospital. As well as for those with mental health issues or suffering domestic abuse and former members of the armed forces.
