Wealden District Council has received an allocation from the Department for Communities & Local Government (DCLG) Community Housing Fund.
The fund was financed from the higher Stamp Duty Land Tax imposed on second homes that came into effect on 1st April 2016.
The aim of this fund is to increase the supply of community-led housing as an additional mechanism to deliver affordable homes.
Wealden has, along with neighbouring Councils across Sussex, joined the Sussex Community Housing Hub, which is a new enabling service to raise awareness and provide technical advice and support to community-led housing groups across East and West Sussex.
