Apprentice Building Control Surveyor
Salary: £18,543 - £28,716 p.a

Hours: 37 per week (open to Job Share)
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
We are looking to appoint an apprentice within our Building Control Service to undertake a recognised training programme through either the LABC/CIOB apprentice route (https://www.labc.co.uk/about-labc/careers ) or the RICS apprentice route (http://www.rics.org/uk/the-profession/apprenticeships/ ). Either route should lead to a professional qualification and entry into one the recognised professional bodies.
Building Control is relativity unique within a local government environment in that we compete with the private sector. The Service covers an area of over 1000 km2 and strives to provide an excellent customer focused service to nearly ½ million people to ensure the construction and alteration of the built environment meets the required health and safety standards by complying with the Building regulations . This role will therefore suit someone who is interested in a highly competitive and customer focused sector within the construction industry.
Entry level onto both courses is flexible but we are looking for a minimum level of a Btec level 3 in building studies or similar. The starting salary will be dependent on experience, current qualifications etc. These posts are career graded with bars to progression dependent upon reaching certain criteria i.e. qualifications and work experience milestones. It is anticipated that once full Membership of one of the professional institutes has been achieved you will be appointed to the post of Building Control Surveyor.
