Location: Based at Hailsham, East Sussex with some homeworking

An opportunity has arisen for an organised and motivated Assistant Information Governance Officer to join our busy legal team. You will be the Council’s first point of contact for all access to information requests and you will assist in managing replies and ensure that they are sent via appropriate channels. You will assist in providing guidance, recommendations and advice on information governance, including data protection (DP), Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) and data transparency. You will also co-ordinate customer complaints, maintaining accurate records and systems to monitor the Council’s handling of ‘access to information’ requests.

You will have previous experience in resolving customer complaints and enjoy analysing data and maintaining accurate records. You will need significant experience of customer services delivery, preferably within Local Government, strong attention to detail and good admin skills. You will be educated to at least ‘A’ level or equivalent, with excellent IT and communication skills including fluent spoken English.
