Economic Development Project Officer (Community and Regeneration)
Salary: £28,800 - £31,998 p.a (pro rata, actual salary £17,513 - £19,458 p.a) plus car allowance
Contract Type: Temporary for 1 year / Part-time (22.5 hours p/w)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex (home and office working)
Wealden District Council is committed to playing an active role in developing a vibrant local economy and supporting the local community. In response to the events of the last year, we are now looking for someone to work as part of the Community and Regeneration Team taking a strategic lead on the delivery of the council’s approach to economic development including economic recovery linked to COVID 19, whilst providing support to the implementation of the Team East Sussex Economic Recovery Plan. You will act as the Council’s principal advisor in developing and implementing its approach to economic development to include project delivery, employment sites, external funding and town centres.
You will also be required to contribute to the development of the agreed community and regeneration service plan covering the agendas of economic development, tourism, leisure, health, community and the voluntary sector.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with previous experience in a similar role, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good level of IT skills.

This is a temporary post for one year to help deal with the immediate impact of the Covid 19 outbreak. It is a part time post for 22.5 days per week, preferably worked Wednesday to Friday but this can be flexible. Whilst we are all working at home at present you would be required to work in the office some of the time once we have fully re-opened.
