Are you experienced in pre and post contract property maintenance and looking for a new challenge?

Who?

We require a Maintenance Inspector who will inspect and monitor day to day repairs and programmes of work within the Council’s housing stock.

What will you be doing?

  • You will undertake stock condition surveys to provide an effective repair and modernisation programme.
  • You will have responsibility for carrying out pre and post quality control checks on planned and cyclical works, assess the quality of work, and if necessary arrange for remedial works to be carried out.
  • You will ensure that contractors comply with Health and Safety and other legal obligations in relation to gas, asbestos, legionella regulations and service contracts where applicable.
  • You will also undertake condition surveys and validate asset data.

What do you need?

  • Ideally you will have some experience of pre and post contract property maintenance works and some experience of repairs and maintenance inspections in a social housing environment.
  • Experience of record-keeping and data recording is essential.
  • A good working knowledge of construction and building technology, and health and safety legislation relevant to the housing sector.
  • Good interpersonal skills, an ability to be innovative and a pragmatic, problem-solving approach.
