This is an exciting time to join the Council. We are expanding our legal team to ensure we can support and help deliver our clients’ Corporate Plan aspirations. We are a shared legal service carrying out work for Wealden and Rother District Councils. Our Legal Team has a crucial role providing client focused and professional legal advice, support and assistance.

We’ll offer you the opportunity to work with a team of experienced and qualified legal specialists which will enhance your personal development and technical skills.

We have the following positions:

Post number U2021 – Team Leader/Principal Lawyer (Planning) – £47,115 to £59,931 p.a.

Post number U2007 – Solicitor/ Lawyer (Property) – £32,472 to £40,900 p.a.

Post number U2015  – Solicitor/ Lawyer (Commercial and Governance) – £32,472 to £40,900 p.a.

Post number U2011 – Solicitor/ Lawyer (Litigation) – £32,472 to £40,900 p.a.

Post number U2017 – Solicitor/ Lawyer (Planning) – £32,472 to £40,900 p.a.

You will be responsible for your own caseload as well as working with more senior colleagues on major and complex transactions. You can expect to be working on a wide range of casework. Any exposure to work within the local government sector would be a distinct advantage as would a proven track record in the specified area of law.

You will be team orientated but able to work autonomously, with strong commercial acumen and communication skills.
