Do you want to work in a key role supporting important decision-making?

 If you have experience as a Democratic Services Officer and are looking for new opportunities or if you have no direct experience but you have an eye for detail, keenness to learn and take pride in providing good customer service, we want to hear from you.

 

Who?

 We have an opportunity to join our busy team either as a Democratic Services Officer or a Trainee Democratic Services Officer, depending on your experience.

Democratic Services ensures the Council’s democratic decision-making functions are carried out in an effective, transparent and legally compliant manner.

We also support the elected members of the council.

What will you be doing?

  •  Preparing agendas, minutes and other written records
  • Arranging meetings and advising on procedure
  • Assisting elected members with a wide range of queries
  • Delivering projects to support the service

What do you need?

  • High attention to detail, working quickly and accurately to tight deadlines
  • Methodical approach and ability to handle several concurrent tasks
  • Familiarity with technology and IT systems
  • Friendly and approachable manner, confidence in speaking to a wide variety of people
  • Motivated by providing a good service
  • For consideration for the Democratic Services Officer post you will also need recent experience as a Democratic Services Officer or similar
