Wealden is a large rural district council located in a stunning area of the South East of England, reaching from the south coast either side of Eastbourne and the South Downs National Park up to the High Weald and Ashdown Forest along the borders of Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead in the north.

As a respected, forward-thinking local authority, Wealden places strong financial management at the heart of everything we do. This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Professional to be involved in shaping the future of transactional services at Wealden.

As Team Leader of Transactional Services, you will manage a small team to ensure the smooth running of the Council’s accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking functions. The successful post holder will be responsible for the reconciliation of the Council’s bank account as well as managing BACS payment runs, investigating unidentified payments, managing ‘off system’ payments and other similar reconciliation functions.

You will have experience of managing and improving transactional processes within a large organisation. You will be working within a busy team and will need to be organised and have excellent time management skills. Alongside this you will require effective communication skills and have experience of working with computerised financial information systems.
