These walks are part of the Walking for Health scheme which aims to help and encourage more people to become physically active in their local communities. The walks are all completely free and there is absolutely no need to book. They are not too long (about an hour) and not too difficult. They are all led by trained volunteers. Ashdown Forest Healthy Walks With a rotating start point, meet us in the car park for a guided health walk of about an hour through various parts of the beautiful forest. Every Wednesday at 10:30am: Broadstone car park – first Wednesday of month Long car park – second Wednesday of month Box car park – third Wednesday of month Four Counties car park – fourth Wednesday of month Millbrook car park – fifth Wednesday of month Please wear sensible shoes and dress for weather conditions. These walks are part of a partnership project with Ashdown Forest, NHS Sussex, East Sussex County Council and The Conservation Volunteers. Chelwood Gate Healthy Walk On the first Saturday of the month from 11am, setting off from the Visitor Centre at the National Cat Centre. In partnership with the National Cats Protection Centre. Crowborough Health Walk Every Thursday, with various start points and various routes exploring the Crowborough area. Meet us just before 10:30am at: 1st Thursday of the month: outside Fernbank Centre 2nd Thursday: Millbrook Garden Centre car park 3rd Thursday: St. Johns Road car park (Apr-Sept) or Fernbank Centre (Oct-Mar) 4th Thursday: Millbrook Garden Centre car park 5th Thursday: St. Johns Road Car park Hailsham Health Walks Every Thursday from 10:30am at the War Memorial. Nice easy walks around the town, around the lake or along the Cuckoo Trail. Heathfield Health Walks Every Wednesday from 10am underneath the Clock Tower in the High Street at 10am. Lots of different routes around Heathfield. Pevensey Bay Health Walks Every Monday at 10:30am from outside the Library in Richmond Road. A gentle stroll west and back along the seafront, or eat to meander through the allotments and try our the free outdoor gym equipment. Polegate Health Walks First and third Tuesday of the month, meeting outside Polegate train station at 10:30am. Some very pretty routes. Uckfield Health Walks Every Friday starting from the Civic Centre at 10am. These walks are all part of the East Sussex Health Walk Programme, which is run by The Conservation Volunteers, the community volunteering charity. All the walks are led by trained volunteers; if you love walking and could spare a couple of hours a month, please get in touch. The scheme is part of the national walking health initiative, which is run by The Ramblers. It is funded locally by East Sussex County Council.
