There are many walking groups available in Wealden including a series of ‘healthy walks’.
Anyone can join one, but they’re specifically designed to encourage those that would benefit from more exercise to give walking a go.
The routes are easy and normally last about an hour. Tricky terrain, steep hills and stiles are avoided where possible. Walks are led by a friendly, supportive volunteer Walk Leader who has been trained and is experienced in leading walks.
Healthy Walks provide a pleasant way to improve health and well-being for those who are getting little or no exercise, recovering from illness or injury, or lacking in confidence. Having said that, the majority of walkers stay because they enjoy the social aspects of taking part and meeting new people!
Walks take place Mondays to Saturdays and are offered across Wealden in the following locations:
Ashdown Forest, Chelwood Gate, Crowborough, Hailsham, Heathfield, Ticehurst and Uckfield.
