If the answer to any of those questions is yes – and with Wealden District Council 2023 Elections less than a year away – the authority is holding two ‘Become a councillor’ events in July to give people the opportunity to look at what is involved.

The first is on Saturday 2 July from 10am-12.30pm at The Civic Centre in Uckfield, TN22 1AE.

The second is on Monday 4 July between 6pm-8pm at The Civic Community Hall, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, BN27 1BH.

There will be a chance to meet with existing councillors and officers to find out more about the role of a councillor and the process of standing for election.

Booking is not required for either event.

A dedicated page https://www.wealden.gov.uk/councillors-and-committees/standforelection/ has been set up by Wealden council to help people decide if they want to stand to be a councillor at the elections on 4 May 2023.
