Councillor Dick Angel

Publish Date: 26 May 2020

It is with great regret we have to announce the death of Councillor Dick Angel. He represented North Heathfield on Wealden District Council from 2001 until his death on 23 May.

Councillor Dick Angel

“Councillor Angel was a dedicated representative of the people in his ward and great servant to the District as a whole,” said Councillor Bob Standley, Leader of Wealden District Council. “He served on many committees during his 19 years with the Council and his contribution will be greatly missed.”

Cllr Angel was elected as a District Councillor in 2001, for the Heathfield North ward. Over the years he served on Planning Committee South, the Personnel Committee and Standards Committee, and was a Cabinet member for Housing. He was currently a member of the Council’s Licensing committee, and Wealden’s representative for the Heathfield Regeneration Partnership.

Our thoughts are with Dick’s son and daughter, Sam and Simon, and the rest of his family, at this very difficult time.
