It is a welcome opportunity to get back to your fitness regime in the gym or swimming pool. Or start one now. This has to be the time to keep fit and healthy.

The gyms and swimming pools at Hailsham and Crowborough opened on July 25. The gym and other dry-side facilities at Uckfield and Heathfield open this Saturday, 1 August. Uckfield swimming pool will open for lane swimming from Monday 3 August.

“It is great to see our Freedom Leisure centres are now open again,” said Councillor Philip Lunn, Wealden Cabinet member for Community & Public Health.

“The District Council has been supporting Freedom Leisure during lock-down and with its re-opening plans. It is important that everyone has an opportunity to use its fantastic facilities while staying safe at all times.

“Do check out the Freedom Leisure website for the latest information about classes and safety advice at your local leisure centre. It has never been more important to stay fit.”

Ivan Horsfall-Turner, Managing Director at Freedom Leisure, said:

“Freedom Leisure is delighted to be reopening the leisure centres in Wealden, and our teams are really looking forward to welcoming back the local community.

“A lot of planning and work has been done. Our focus is on making sure our centres and our teams are prepared to provide the usual high levels of customer service and  the reassurance our customers need to return.”

Information about the activities available, opening times and how to book, is all on the Freedom Leisure website. There are also guidelines on safety and videos from the leisure centre teams to show what customers can expect when they return.
