The homes are located in Hedgerows, a small development in the village of Horam, and are a partnership between Sussex Weald Homes – the council’s housing company – and contractors Greymoor Homes.

Twelve one-bedroom flats, two three-bedroom houses and two two-bedroom houses for affordable rent have been completed and already been let to applicants in housing need.

Four two and one three bedroom houses are also available to purchase for low cost home ownership on a shared ownership basis to help those who are unable to afford on the open market. Shares are available from 25%.

Councillor Rachel Millward, Alliance for Wealden (Green Party), lead councillor for Housing & Benefits and deputy leader of the council, said, “This is fantastic news and a welcome addition to a range of affordable housing available to our residents across Wealden.

“We have been working in partnership to build these homes that will make such a difference to families and those who cannot afford to buy on the open market.”
