Salvation Army clothes banks

Publish Date: 23 June 2020

The Salvation Army textile and shoe recycling containers are now able to take donations at some locations.

The Salvation Army has now recommenced collections from their textile recycling banks but the process to get back to a normal collection pattern could take some weeks. There are a lot of full banks and it will take some time to get them all emptied.

If there is space  in your nearest clothes bank, please use it for donations. But do not leave any items on the floor as they cannot be reused or recycled and the charity has to send them to go for waste – which in Wealden would mean incinerated to create electricity.

If there is no room in the clothes bank,we advise you to hold on to the clothing and return  another week. Or alternatively, the textile recycling containers at the local Household Waste Recycling Sites should now be able to accept unwanted clothing.
