WSP Stronger Resilient Communities Fund

The Wealden Strategic Partnership (WSP) invited bids from a wide range of bodies including local councils, business-related groups and the public sector as well as the community and voluntary sector for projects that will help build and maintain strong resilient communities in the District. Project proposals were required to engage partners and involve community related activities and contribute to the Partnership’s main priorities which are the economy, health and rural isolation & access to services. Ashdown Forest Tourism Association Map Enable the inclusion of bus and train information on the Ashdown Forest tourism map. £2983
Wealdlink Community Transport Contribute to maintenance of fleet of vehicles. £1950
Field First Responders – Community Resilience Providing equipment to support Field First Responders to provide emergency medical support. £7750
Wealden Dementia Action Alliance Set up a dementia action alliance in Wealden, making sure there are action plans across the district in different towns and villages. £3182
Time at the Bar – Performance in Pubs Establish a pub network for touring performances, specifically live theatre and live literature in Wealden for the benefit of rurally isolated communities. £5000
Action in rural Sussex – Village Agents Enable village agents to work more intensively with a small number of communities that have shown an interest in developing additional localised services. £5000
Heathfield Community Hub Support the implementation of Heathfield Community Hub to improve access to services across the parish. £2350
Incredible Edible – Pevensey & Westham Establish an apiary for up to ten beehives and forest garden to teach sustainable food production and gardening methods. £4855
Withyham Parish Volunteers Support the establishment of a Parish-wide community volunteer workforce. £3500
Sussex Treasures – Film Project Establish a new screening programme for 2016 in Wealden, providing digital access to Wealden’s heritage £500
Home Start Bridging Contribute towards maintaining the current level of service provision by Home Start £8000
Healthy Hailsham – Seed to Feed Create a community food growing project, teaching residents to grow food even in the smallest of open spaces. £5450
 3VA – Connecting Rural Service Providers Establish workshops to discuss and follow up effective ways of connecting rural service providers £2500
Hailsham Foodbank – Holiday Meals Project Support families in need throughout school holiday periods by providing cost effective wholesome nutritional meals. £4000
Street Learning Provide free training for all Wealden residents aged 19+, focussed on improving confidence and employability skills in order to support residents back into work. £3880
