We recognise the important contribution food sampling makes to the protection of Public Health and the Food Law Enforcement functions of the Authority.
We participate in national and local sampling programmes which includes food and food contact surfaces at manufacturers, retailers and caterers.
Examples of previous sampling programmes have included sampling salads from fast food premises to monitor for cross contamination, and ready to eat shelled nuts from retail premises checked for microbiological safety.
Where unsatisfactory results are obtained further investigations are made and corrective action put in place to improve standards.
