Car Parking Regulations

The Wealden District Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015

Changes in Wealden’s infrastructure and environment have had a major affect on parking, especially within the main towns. As a result a decision to produce a new Off Street Car Parking Order was made to reflect changes in parking requirements and demands and to provide flexibility to reflect local circumstances and needs.

The changes follow consultation with:

  • The Chambers of Commerce
  • Department of Transport
  • ESCC
  • Voluntary Associations
  • Town/Parish Councils
  • Members of the Public

The Wealden District Council (“the Council”) in exercise of its powers under section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“Lithe 1984 Act”) and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act and of all other enabling powers, with the consent of the East Sussex County Council in accordance with section 39(3) of the 1984 Act and after consulting the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act hereby makes the following Order:

Commencement

This Order shall come into effect on the 23 day of February 2015 and may be cited as “The Wealden District Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015”.

Amendments to the Wealden District Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015

Amendment 1 of the Wealden District Council  (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2015 will come into effect on the 1st day of April 2018 and can be viewed or downloaded below.

Rescission

The Wealden District Council (Off Street Parking Places) Orders of 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2001, 2005 and 2014 and any amendments thereto are hereby rescinded upon the coming into operation of this Order.
