Wealden Local Housing Needs Assessment (2026)
The Wealden Local Housing Needs Assessment was undertaken by Iceni Projects on the behalf of Wealden District Council in support of its new Local Plan. The purpose of this study is to examine the future need for housing in the district and the differences within the district. The study considers the overall housing need for the district in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published in December 2024, as well as examining affordable housing need, Wealden’s relationship other Housing Market Areas (HMAs), recommendations on the mix of housing to be provided and needs of specific groups, such as older persons housing and those who wish to build their own homes. Wealden Urban Capacity Study (2024)
The Urban Capacity Study was undertaken by Iceni Projects on behalf of Wealden District Council in support of its new Local Plan. The main purpose of the Urban Capacity Study is to provide an analysis of the potential urban capacity of Wealden’s varying settlements for housing, to identify sites and the scale of brownfield land and suitable extension sites available to accommodate the Council’s housing requirements up to 2040. Wealden Character and Density Study (2024)
The Character and Density Study was undertaken by Iceni Projects on behalf of Wealden District Council in support of its new Local Plan and specifically the above Urban Capacity Study.
