When we work out how much help you get we take into account the people who live with you, your income and capital and any rent you pay. You must therefore tell us if any of these details change. Examples of changes are :
- You start or stop working, education, training or an apprenticeship
- Your income goes up or down
- Your working hours change
- Changes in your savings, investments or property
- Your child leaves education or they turn 18
- Changes to your state benefits, or changes to the benefits of the people who live with you
- You go abroad, or plan to be abroad, for more than four weeks
- Going into hospital, a care home or sheltered accommodation
- You are, or plan to be, temporarily absent from your property, but remaining in Great Britain, for more than thirteen weeks
- Your private/occupational pension changes or you make a drawdown withdrawal
- Someone moves in with you e.g. a family member, a lodger, a sub-tenant or joint tenant
- Having a baby
- Someone moves out
- Your rent changes
- You move home, or are absent from your home with no intention to return
- Changes to your immigration status
- Someone starts or stops receiving Carer’s Allowance for looking after you
- Changes of circumstances of the people who live with you
These are not the only changes just examples. If you are unsure if you should tell us about a change then tell us anyway.
You can report a change online based on the Signed authority from the Chief Executive for Wealden District Council to use electronic facilities for benefit claims .
