Freedom Leisure and Wealden District Council invest in local leisure facilities

The significant programme of works will be carried out over the coming months across the three leisure centres in Hailsham, Uckfield & Crowborough, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of both organisations to maintaining and enhancing facilities for local residents.

The works includes a range of upgrades designed to support the long-term operation of the centres and improve the overall environment for customers. While many of these improvements will take place behind the scenes, some customers may notice refurbishment and decoration works being carried out around the facilities.

Members and visitors may notice scaffolding around some areas of the buildings while works are underway. However, every effort is being made to minimise disruption and the leisure centres will remain open, with facilities continuing to operate as normal throughout the project.

The investment reflects the strong partnership between Freedom Leisure and Wealden District Council and their shared commitment to providing high-quality leisure facilities for local communities.

Councillor Kelvin Williams, Wealden District Council’s lead councillor for Public Health and Asset Management, said, “We are continuing to invest in our leisure centres because these are important community assets and residents deserve facilities that are welcoming, well maintained and fit for purpose. We have already made significant investment across our three leisure centres in the district, and this latest scheme of work demonstrates that our commitment does not stop there. We are working closely with Freedom Leisure and our other partners to make sure these facilities continue to be welcoming places that residents want to come to.”
