The next round of the Household Support Fund (HSF7) is now live from the 1st August 2025. This has been funded by the UK Government.
If you receive Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element), Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction (or getting an SMI exemption and would otherwise get Council Tax Reduction), we may be able to give you a Household Support Fund (HSF) payment.
To be eligible for HSF7, applicants must be:
- over 18 years old and
- resident within the Wealden District Council Local Authority area and
- in receipt of either;
-Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element)
-Housing Benefit
-Council Tax Reduction
-an SMI (severe mental impairment) exemption and would therefore otherwise be entitled to a Council Tax Reduction.
The scheme will have two phases:
Phase one: From 1st August 2025 to 30th September 2025, covering eligible claims that did not receive a payment under HSF6.
Phase two: From 1st October 2025 to 31 March 2026, for any remaining eligible claims.
Only one payment will be made to any eligible claims during the lifetime of the scheme and only one application per household.
All eligible claims will receive £200.
Payments will be made by BACS within 14 days of a successful claim.
The scheme will close on either 31st March 2026 or when the funds have been exhausted.

In order to qualify for a payment you must meet all 3 elements of the criteria:
1. Be over 18 years old
2. Be resident within the Wealden District Council Local Authority area
3. Be getting Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element), Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction (or getting a SMI exemption and would otherwise get Council Tax Reduction)
How will I be paid?
We will make the payment direct to your bank account.
Please allow 14 days from the date your application is approved for payment to reach your account.
How do I apply?
The scheme opens for applications 1st August 2025.

If you have applied for any financial help in the past using the Apply4Online portal, you can use the same account to make your HSF application.
