The next round of the Household Support Fund (HSF6) is now live from the 25th November 2024.
If you receive Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element), Housing Benefit, or Council Tax Reduction (or getting a SEMI exemption and would otherwise get Council Tax Reductions), we may be able to give you a Household Support Fund (HSF) payment.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to qualify for a payment you must meet all 3 elements of the criteria:
- Applicants must be over 18 years old.
- Applicants must be resident within the Wealden District Council Local Authority area.
- Applicants must be getting either Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element), Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction (or getting a SEMI exemption and would otherwise get Council Tax Reduction).
Claims will be made through the Ascendant system. Only one application can be paid during the lifetime of the scheme and only one application per household.
There will be two award amounts as follows:
£175 for eligible claims that are Pension Age, but not eligible for a Winter Fuel Payment
£125 for all other eligible claims

If you are unable to make an online application and do not have anyone to help you, please contact the Benefits Service and they will be able to assist you.
Please note that the funding we have been given is limited and the scheme will close on the 31st March 2025 or sooner, if the funds have been exhausted.
How will I be paid?
Payments will be made direct to your bank account by BACS.
Please allow 14 days from the date your application is approved for payment to reach your account.

The scheme opens for applications on the 25th November 2024.
