Business grants, loans and funding

There are a number of grants, loans and funding streams available to businesses at every stage of development, from start-ups to those established businesses looking to grow.

East Sussex Invest 6 – Business Growth Funding

Funding from East Sussex County Council and the Regional Growth Fund which looks to support the local economy and create jobs.  Locate East Sussex deliver the fund in partnership with ESCC.  The fund offers grants and loans for capital investment to stimulate business growth and job creation. 

Stalled Sites Funding

This one off capital fund is open to applications which will be considered quarterly.   The remaining funds total £600,000 and once these are exhausted the fund will close.

South East Creative

A programme of support for the creative, cultural and digital sectors across East Sussex.  Grants, workshops and mentoring is available to eligible businesses.

Locate East Sussex

LES operate the County’s inward investment service which includes help to access funding, grants and loans, professional advice and help to find new premises.  The team can give free and impartial advise on a vast array of business grants or loans in East Sussex.

EDEAL – business advice and training agency

EDEAL provides free, confidential and impartial business advice and counselling for established businesses.  Including free access to 121 business start-up workshops, social media training and networking.  This service is part funded by Wealden District Council.

Let’s Do Business Finance

The Let’s Do business finance group provide business loans for start-ups and for established businesses looking to grow.  They also offer a brokerage service to source alternative funding solutions.

Community Grants Programme

The Council operate a grants programme open to community and voluntary organisations during September/October, for applications by the end of November.
