Tell Council Tax that You’re Moving

If you are moving into or leaving a property in the Wealden area you must let us know as soon as possible. If you delay telling us you may end up paying your bill over a shorter period of time, which would mean higher instalments. Or if there is a refund due to you this might be delayed.

What we need to know:

In order for us to amend our records, we will require the following information:

  • The address you are moving to
  • The address you are moving from (if you already have a council tax account with Wealden)
  • The date of the move
  • Details of who will be responsible for council tax at the property vacated (if moving from an address in Wealden). This could be the landlord or new owners of the property.

Please ensure that you have all the above information before advising us of your move. Without the above information we may be unable to amend our records, leading to delays.

We are currently having issues with our online move form, meaning that we are not receiving the information that has been input. Whilst these issues are being resolved please email localtax@wealden.gov.uk with details of your move and we will process this as soon as possible.
