Wealden is a great place to go walking. Whether it’s for a short stroll or a lengthy hike, the area has many beautiful areas including villages and market towns, parks and gardens, Ashdown Forest, High Weald, South Downs, Cuckoo Trail, Seven Sisters and more.
Walking is good exercise and can make you feel better and more energised. You don’t need any special equipment, it’s free to do and suitable for all ages and abilities. If you require further information on any of our walks please contact us using the contact details at the bottom of the page.
Wealden District Council, with the help of each of the 42 parishes in the area and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has established the Wealden Walks. Using over 150 miles of the existing public rights of way network, some of which was previously underused, we have provided a means of viewing and understanding Wealden’s natural and historic landscapes. The walks have also been arranged to incorporate links with the public transport network, both bus and rail.
Guided walks are run throughout the year and are a great way to learn about the local area whilst enjoying a walk.
Short walks, accessible to most people, led by a trained health walk leader.
Walks run by community groups throughout Wealden.
