Statement of Community Involvement
We are now consulting on the Statement of Community Involvement. A Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a document that sets out what consultation will take place when we are developing and reviewing our planning policy documents and determining planning applications. It also provides information as to how the Council will work with our partners and communities to facilitate proposals for neighbourhood plans or orders.
The Council’s current SCI was adopted in May 2015. Since this time there have been a number of changes to planning legislation and guidance as well as technological advances, which provides opportunities to change the way that we engage with our local communities in the local planning system. The Draft SCI sets out how communities and interested parties can be involved in the plan making process and in the consideration of planning applications.
