Wealden Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sports Needs Assessment 2016 – 2028
The Wealden Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sports Needs Assessment has been undertaken by Leisure and the Environment in association with Ethos Environmental Planning to inform the Council’s decision making process up to 2028. It replaces the Open Space, Sports and Recreation Assessment published by the Council in 2008 (amended in 2010).
Wealden District Council Open Space, Sports and Recreation Assessment 2016- 2028
The following aspects of the Wealden District Council Open Space, Sports and Recreation Assessment 2016- 2028 were completed in September 2017. The Wealden Community and Stakeholder Consultation Report examines local need for a wide range of different kinds of open space, sport, and recreational facilities through community/stakeholder consultation. The Open Space Study aims to provide a robust assessment of needs and deficiencies in open space in order to establish local provision standards. Lastly, the Wealden Indoor Built Sports Facility Needs Assessment aims to provide an audit of existing indoor and outdoor leisure facilities within the Council’s administrative area, an assessment of those facilities in terms of quantity, quality and accessibility, and to identify gaps in provision as a guideline for future investment. Village and Community Hall Provision Paper
Wealden District Council has also published a Village and Community Hall Provision evidence base paper that was undertaken to collate information regarding existing Community Hall provision and to generate a standard base upon existing provision for use in assessing future requirements. It is not at this stage an assessment of qualitative aspects such as the suitability, viability, accessibility or sustainability of existing village and community halls, nor does it provide a strategy for village and community hall provision, expansion or improvement.
