Wealden District Council takes a robust approach to dealing with any offences that effects its assets and public funds.
Wealden District Council has an experienced investigations team who work together with the council’s auditors to identify and actively investigate error or allegations of offences committed against the council and its assets or the public purse.
The Team take responsibility for investigating any allegations received which fall within the Councils remit this includes Housing Tenancy, Right to Buy, Council Tax Reduction Scheme, Business Rates including COVID-19 grant fraud and also Planning and procurement
The Wealden Investigations Team also take a proactive approach to identifying and investigating fraud utilising a wide range of intelligence and data matching services and applications.
They work closely with our neighbouring local authorities, other enforcement organisations and teams dealing with fraud and a variety of other offences and matters.
