Consultation: Statement of Licensing Policy 2026
There is a legal requirement under the Licensing Act 2003 to review our Licensing Policy every five years. The Policy provides guidance to applicants, objectors and interested residents
as to the general approach of the Council will take in terms of licensing.
No changes are proposed to our 2021 Policy except for updating contact details etc.
The consultation period is between the 7th January to 18th February 2026; please email comments, suggestions and questions on the Policy to licensing@rother.gov.uk

Premises licence review
Where problems associated with the operation of a premises and its failure to meet the licensing objectives then application may be made by interested parties, as defined under the Act, or responsible authorities for a review of the premises licence.
There are currently no Premises Licences for review.

Plays
A licence is no longer required to hold a play between 8am and 11pm if the audience is no more than 500.
